Alberta "Bert" Loraine Arneson

Alberta “Bert” L. Arneson, age 75 of Decorah, IA, died on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at her home in Decorah of cancer. Funeral Service is at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah, IA by Rev. Michael Blair, with interment in Phelps Cemetery in Decorah. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Wednesday after 9:00 AM. Alberta “Bert” Loraine (Finck) Arneson was born August 9, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Albert and Loraine Adeline (Ewing) Finck. She was a graduate of Decorah High School in Decorah, IA, with the class of 1948. She was united in marriage with Earlen J. Arneson on November 5, 1950 at First Lutheran Church in Decorah, IA. To this union three children were born: Sue, Steve and Ginny. Bert was the Print Shop Manager at Luther College for 29 years, retiring in 1995. She was also an active member in the Christian Science Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Herbert Finck. She is survived by her husband, Earlen of Decorah, IA; her daughter, Sue (Jeff) Ellingson of Cedar Falls, IA; her son, Steve (Linda) Arneson of Decorah; her daughter, Ginny (Denny) Hanson of Stewartville, MN; and eleven grandchildren: Brandon, Jon, Jenny and James Ellingson, Kelly (Dave) Egan, Heather and Megan Arneson, and Laurie, Kris, Katy and Julie Hanson.
